A new look, surfaces and accents, and settings as a tab

The workspace gets floating panels on a shaded field, themes split into a surface and an accent, agent and model become two chips in the session header, and Settings opens as a tab.

v1.25.0

A new look

  • Panels on a field. The window is a shaded field with the panels floating on it. The docks and the center are rounded panels with a soft edge, and the gaps between them are the resize handles. Dock tabs are pills with the current one lifted, and the open session is a tinted pill.
  • Denser text. The body is 13px, with 12px detail and 15px titles. Buttons, fields, and rows are 28px tall.
  • One corner shape per kind of thing. Buttons, tabs, and chips share one shape, rows and menus another. The message box matches your message bubbles, and dialogs take the same corners as the panels around them.
  • The message box stands on its own. It has its own slightly lighter fill with a thin edge, and clicking into it lifts the box with a soft shadow. The checkout, permission, and format controls under it are chips with their value written out. In a narrow pane they show just their icons.
  • One color for cues, one for buttons. Selection, status dots, and the current item use the accent color. Buttons keep a single fill, and the rest are outlined. Your own messages take the accent tint.

Surfaces and accents

Settings → Appearance has three choices instead of a list of schemes:

  • Mode: light, dark, or system.
  • Surface: the grays. Graphite is neutral; Warm, Ocean, Moss, and Mauve add a hint of color; Carbon is a darker dark mode.
  • Accent: the one color for selection, the on switch, charts, and the tinted corner of the window. Blue, Teal, Green, Amber, or Violet.

A scheme you picked before becomes the nearest surface and accent on the first start. Nothing to redo.

Agent and model in the session header

The one control that held model, effort, and agent is now two chips at the right of the session header.

  • The agent chip lists your agents with their descriptions and the model each one pins. In a workspace that belongs to an agent, the chip shows that agent with a lock.
  • The model chip opens one list: your recent picks on top, then one row per installed runtime (Prokop, Claude Code, Codex) that opens into its models, and an effort row at the bottom. Typing searches across runtimes, providers, and models at once.

On a phone, the same lists open as a sheet from the bottom.

Settings is a tab

  • Settings opens in the center like files and pull requests, with its pages listed at the left. On a phone the list comes first.
  • Every page is groups of rows: the label and a sentence on the left, the control on the right, and a switch for every yes or no.
  • Pages that list things (MCP servers, providers, agents, prompts, formats, devices, permissions) show one row per thing with its icon, name, and status. A row opens its editor in place.
  • The scheduler, rename, overview group, and pull request dialogs use the same rows, with a plain Cancel and one primary action.

Pull requests, usage, and notices

  • Pull requests as rows. The list is two-line rows like the session list, with Review requested leading the status line. An open pull request shows Merge, Reviewers, and Checks as groups at the right, and votes only when cast.
  • Usage and providers at a glance. Every usage group and provider row leads with the provider’s mark, so you can find an account by its shape. Usage shows two columns once the panel is wide enough.
  • Notices come from one place. Update ready, reconnecting, requests that need you, and errors all show as the same kind of notice in the corner, each updating in place instead of stacking.

Fixed

  • Phone views lost their background. On a phone, Settings, the file explorer, the editor, and the other side views showed the window’s tinted backdrop behind their content. Every view paints the plain background again.
  • The installed app’s title bar used the old flat background, a shade lighter than the window. It now matches the window.
