Set up agent memory and learning

See what your agent keeps across projects, then turn on shared memory, skills, and learning for a workspace.

16-second silent walkthrough, recorded from a real Prokop instance. Written steps below.

Before you start

Have Prokop running with a connected provider or a logged-in Claude Code or Codex CLI.

Your agent already keeps its own memory

  1. Open Settings and go to Agents.
  2. Choose your agent, for example the default one.
  3. Open Memory & Learning.

Memory, Skill management, and Automatic learning are on for every agent you chat with. Its memory and skills follow it into every project, and learning reviews the conversations it took part in during quiet periods. Turn learning off here, or set Learning sources to Selected workspaces to limit it.

Turn on memory and learning for a project

  1. In Settings, go to Memory & Learning under Workspace. The workspace selector at the top picks which project you configure.
  2. Turn on Memory and Skill management.
  3. Turn on Automatic learning. A learner appears, using the workspace's default agent; you can change its agent and model.
  4. Click Save changes.

A new workspace starts with these off. Turning on learning also turns on Memory, and its first run covers the last seven days.

Agent knowledge and project knowledge

Project knowledge belongs to the workspace: build commands, conventions, and procedures that every session there can use. Agent knowledge belongs to the agent: your preferences and lessons, carried into every project.

Each workspace's Use as personal learning source switch decides whether agents may learn from its conversations. To keep one conversation out of learning, choose Exclude from learning in its session menu. Everything learning saves stays in plain files you can read and edit, and its history shows each review.

Read how learning works, including timing and undo, or work with multiple sessions.
